Louise has been working in the pub trade since she was fourteen years old. Her mother Jean and brother Carl also work at The George.

The History of The George

The George is positioned in the heart of Ramsey on the High Street. This rural town sits on the edge of the Cambridgeshire Fens and it is approximately 30 miles from Cambridge, 20 miles from Peterborough, 12 miles from Huntingdon, 57 miles from Stansted airport and 80 miles from London. It is ideally situated for exploring the fens and the surrounding region.

The original building is believed to date back to 1630, giving this Grade II listed building some unique features including Cambridgeshire's oldest staircase. Over the years the building has been extended predominantly to the rear to incorporate function facilities and letting accommodation.The George is run by Louise Axelsen.
